DESCRIPTION:Join the Mayor of Winchester online from the comfort of your own home for this unmissable annual charity fundraiser\, hosted by TV’s Egghead extraordinaire\, Kevin Ashman\, on Saturday 26 February\, from 7pm. \nEnjoy a fun packed evening (it’s not Mastermind level)\, raising money for the Mayor’s nominated good causes – Winchester Youth Counselling\, Friends of the Family and the Eight Foundation. \nTickets are £10 per person (+ Eventbrite booking fee) and teams can be up to 8 people.  You can book tickets by clicking ‘Buy Tickets’ at the bottom of this page. \nQuiz Teams – Enter your team name and the names of the people taking part. \nIndividuals – If you don’t have a team but would still like to attend\, you can buy an individual ticket and we’ll sort you into a team for the evening. \nRaffle – You can also buy five virtual raffle tickets for £5 (+ Eventbrite booking fee) for a chance to win mystery prizes! \nHow it works: \nYou’ll be sent a Zoom link to join the Big Quiz on the day\, Sat 26 Feb. \nYou’ll be answering the questions individually at first and then get together in your team’s breakout room to confirm your answers.  \nThe top teams will compete in the “Ask Ashman” final round to see if you can bamboozle an Egghead! You just need to bring a camping chair and be ready to sing your heart out. The Mayor of Winchester will be right there with you and all the funds raised will go to the Mayor’s chosen charities. \nWe will go ahead with the screening in the event of bad weather\, unless the conditions mean the safety of the audience is at risk of being compromised. So\, we strongly advise to come prepared for the Great British weather! \nThe spectacular will take place outdoors with doors opening at 6pm\, and the film beginning at 7pm. DESCRIPTION:We would like to invite you to take part in one of the hugely popular virtual wine tastings hosted by Simon Evans\, MD and founder of the renowned independent Alresford wine merchants: The Naked Grape. \nHow will it work?\nSimon will select four choice bottles\, usually one fizz\, a white\, a red\, and a desert wine\, for you to taste and his extensive knowledge of these and other wines will take you on a journey of discovery in to the world of wine. The Naked Grape will deliver the chosen wines to your home prior to the event (If you are far\, far away: they will be posted!). On the evening Simon is sure to amuse and inform us during an hour or so of socially distant wine-tasting. This is a 100% COVID safe event\, with really excellent wine. \nWhat other people say?\nSimon Evans is incredibly knowledgeable and always weaves amusing anecdotes with relevant information to make an interesting and hugely enjoyable evening. Many of the people who attend immediately book for the next one as soon as it’s announced and some even organise virtual hosting parties with friends and family up and down the country. We cannot recommend these events highly enough to anyone who enjoys wine. \nWhy join us?\nThis years Mayor\, Cllr Vivian Achwal\, has organised this event for the benefit of her chosen charities which are: Winchester Youth Counselling\, Friends of the Family\, and Eight Foundation. \nYour attendance and participation really helps with raising money for these great causes.
